Kerry Kennedy Arrested On Friday The 13th For Driving While Impaired Due To Drugs

DUI for drugs, Kerry Kennedy

Kerry Kennedy, who is the ex wife of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, had a very bad Friday the 13th this July. Apparently Kennedy was arrested after causing an accident and the fleeing the scene. Kerry is the daughter of Robert Kennedy, who served as a senator until his death. According to police Kennedy was driving when she hit a semi trailer and then left the scene. Kennedy was found a little while later in Westchester, New York, and she was in her vehicle which was disabled and stopped on the roadside. Witnesses called 911 to report that there was a car driving in an erratic manner on the I 684 highway. Witnesses further told 911 that the vehicle struck a tractor trailer and then left. When Kennedy was found her vehicle was damaged and had a flat tire.

An individual who was speaking for Kerry Kennedy stated “Kerry Kennedy voluntarily took breathalyzer, blood and urine tests — all of which showed no drugs or alcohol whatsoever in her system.” The individual, Ken Sunshine, went on to state “The charges were filed before the test results were available.” Police have not commented further. Some have speculated that the recent death of Mary Kennedy has affected Kerry profoundly. Kerry called Mary her best friend. If Kerry Kennedy was under the influence of drugs or alcohol when she caused the accident then she needs to get professional help and substance abuse treatment. The true facts will come out eventually. Kennedy must appear in court to answer traffic citations in North Castle next week, and the next step in this case will be determined then.
